VALENCE SCHOOL, Westerham
is a Special School for children and young people
with physical disabilities or complex medical needs.

Opportunities exist to assist the school in utilising orienteering in a variety of ways taking in to account pupil cognitive skills..
The school would like to become a Centre of Excellence for orienteering in this special environment.

How might we develop a course for other staff from similar schools with severely disabled pupils.
Develop a series of computer based learning materials.

 

Catching Features is a game you can play at home on rainy days for training. The OCAD file of the school map is converted in to a 3D representation and you can set as many courses for use as you wish. School Shows Interest.

1. Contact by email and Computer based Introduction to Orienteering program issued to school.

2. Preliminary meeting arranged to clarify role of DFOK and advise how this will be completed.

3. Agree with school period during which the map will be completed.

4. Advise on POC installation if required.

5. DFOK Coach spends 2 hours assisting and guidance on implementing orienteering within the curriculum.

6. Advice on courses to be offered by DFOK.
