Seeing in the dark
Congratulations to Rachel Collins for 1st place in W20-40 at the SE Night Championships at Alice Holt in November. Father Mark Collins finished 2nd in M55-60 at the same event and followed this up with 3rd place in M55 at the Southern Night Championships at Penn Wood, High Wycombe, on 2nd December.

This evening will be spent reviewing route choice at 2 events. Firstly, the Klubb Champs at Weald Park, followed by some legs from the Scottish 6-Day. All welcome and refreshments available. Evening led by Andrew Evans.
Success for 3 club members at the Southern Long Championships
On a beautiful Sunday morning in the New Forest, one of those treasured days where the autumn colours stand out strikingly against a blue sky, 3 club members made the podium in the Southern Long Championships, all of them securing 3rd place.
Vadim Pesenti, M10A whose time of 17:20 was over 4 mins ahead of the next competitor
Naomi Drewitt, W40L whose margin over 4th place was rather less - 5 seconds
Antoine Pesenti, M45L making it a family double.
Congratulations to all of you and everyone else who made it down there and were among nearly 1000 enjoying their runs.
OMM 2017 – 28th & 29th October 2017
This year’s two day Original Mountain Marathon (OMM), formally the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon (KIMM), was the 50th running of the event and the organisers arranged a top quality venue in the central Lake District. The event centre was in Langdale and the competition area included High Raise, Haystacks, Scafell and Coniston Old Man.
DFOK only had one team entered this year, formed of Neil Speers and Andrew Pitcher who were doing their 30th KIMM/OMM together. Unfortunately the promising start turned to disaster.
